GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A Halloween sentencing date has been set for a 20-year-old Park Township man in a drive-by shooting case from this past Spring.
On Wednesday, just before his trial was to begin in Ottawa County Circuit Court, Gabriel Gutierrez entered a no-contest plea to several felony charges stemming from the June 7th incident at a unit in the Leisure Estates mobile home complex on Holland’s North Side. Sheriff’s deputies say that four persons, including a three-month-old baby, were inside of the residence at the time shots rang out, but none of them were wounded.
Gutierrez and three others were arrested shortly after the incident, with the other three later released, but he was ordered held on 100 thousand dollars bond and remains in the Ottawa County Jail. According to court documents, prosecutors will drop one charge against Gutierrez, but he still could get up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on October 31st.
