HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – It may have been a holiday for most, but Labor Day Monday was another day of work for Holland Public Safety firefighters after a late morning blaze at a southside restaurant.
Crews from Holland Public Safety, the Park Township Fire Department and the Graafschap Fire Department were dispatched to the Lincolnshire Party Store and Deli off of Lincoln Avenue south of US-31 around 11:24 AM on a report of flames coming out of the building’s attic. They found the blaze in a second-floor storage room and promptly brought it under control with no reported injuries.
No cause was immediately determined, but investigators didn’t believe that the fire was suspicious in nature, and that electrical problems have not been ruled out. Public Safety Captain Chris Tinney said that there was moderate damage done to the building, especially with several trusses being singed, along with moderate first floor water damage. An initial dollar estimate of damage was put at 40 thousand dollars.
