PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – Some “memorial art” was reportedly put on the Holland State Park pier near where four teens were swept off last week, with two of them eventually drowning.
M-Live reported on Monday afternoon that Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies approached some who attended a vigil on Sunday evening for Christopher Mimis, whose body had not been recovered, asking about the word “Flacko” spraypainted at the end of pier by mourners. The word was one Mimis had used for himself on social media sites, and M-Live said that the mourners had wanted to leave a permanent marker signifying that they would not stop looking for him. A full-scale official search for his body had ended on Saturday evening after three days.
There was no immediate comment on the incident or of the report by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, nor was there any mention of whether the “memorial art” would be cleaned off of the pier or not.
