HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A two-vehicle crash on Holland’s North Side last evening hospitalized three persons.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, 26-year-old Graciela Mandujano of Holland was driving eastbound on New Holland Street just before 7 PM and had stopped for a stop sign before attempting to turn right at Butternut Drive, while 74-year-old Ralph Abraham of Grand Haven was motoring southbound through the intersection. Mandujano broadsided the Abraham vehicle, which rolled over and struck some mailboxes and a tree.
It took rescue crews about 25 minutes to extricate Abraham and his 73-year-old wife Judith from their vehicle, and they, along with Mandujano, were all taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Two children in the Mandujano vehicle at the time were not hurt.Wendt added that all involved were buckled up as the crash remains under investigation.
