HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A 29-year-old Holland man is in the Ottawa County Jail, charged in a rampage at the Holland Parking Ramp that damaged 13 different vehicles on Thursday afternoon.
Chol Deng Kuek was arraigned on a felony malicious destruction count in Holland District Court about 24 hours after Holland Public Safety officers responded to a dispatch of a man using a hammer to break windows in parked vehicles on the ramp’s upper level. The suspect, who had fled before officers arrived, returned and surrendered without incident. He purportedly admitted to his actions, citing stress as the reason for his outburst. There were no injuries involved in the incident.
Kuek is held on 75 thousand dollars bond. A preliminary hearing date in Holland District Court was not immediately determined.
The case remains open, and those who may have more information are asked to contact Holland Public Safety or Silent Observer.
