GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Two brothers from Grand Haven are suspected of breaking and entering a Spring Lake Township business.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Captain Mark Bennett says on Thursday, August 18, deputies responded around 12:45 a.m. to a business alarm at Joe’s Autoparts located at 14718 Cleveland in Spring Lake Township. When the first responding deputy was on scene, he noticed two suspects inside of the building. The suspects fled on foot as deputies arrived leaving a vehicle belonging to them behind at the scene.
Deputies picked up the investigation and developed two suspects, an 18-year old and a 15-year-old of Grand Haven. The suspects were interviewed at their home and both were cooperative.
The 18-year-old is lodged in the Ottawa County jail pending an arraignment on Friday, August 19. The 15-year-old was turned over to his parents. Both suspects will be charged with breaking and entering of a business.
The case remains under investigation.
