HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – There’s another new event aimed at creating year-round awareness of Holland’s annual signature event.
Tulip Time Festival officials announced that, on September 17th, the first “Pedal the Provinces” will be held. Modeled after the “Elfstedentocht,” the 11-city skating tour in the Netherlands, this cycling event will feature routes of varying lengths – 10.5 miles, 40 miles and 63 miles – for all levels of cyclists to participate in to see many historic sites along the Lakeshore.
All three tours will begin and end at Windmill Island Gardens and include a pancake breakfast at Graafschap Church, along with admittance into the Graafschap Heritage Center, the Cappon and Settler’s House, the Holland Museum and Windmill Island Gardens. A six-hour after party at the Gardens’ north field includes food, giveaways and beverages.
Route maps and registration is online.
