HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – State Representative Amanda Price holds a seat in the 89th District State House, but not for long. Term limits prevent Price from seeking re-election.
What’s next for Price? On WHTC’s Talk of the Town program she was asked if she would run for the Senate. ” Probably 95% of me has decided I’m not doing that because I’ve worked in Lansing in the Senate for eight years before I was elected and it’s a long time to drive back and forth.” Price says.
Price who also serves as chair of the House Education Committee, has been asked to join the Conservatives for Education Committee. ” Trying to send a message to the States that you should take a lot of the regulations back from the Federal government and own education policy for your state. That group just started last week and we’re going to send that message across the country to local legislatures and groups of folks so that states become more and more aware of what abilities they have.” Price said.
Three candidates are competing for the Republican nomination to the 89th District state house race: Jim Lilly of Holland, Tracy Stille-Mulligan of Grand Haven and Brandon Hall of Grand Haven.
Her Ottawa County district includes the townships of Grand Haven, Olive, Park, Port Sheldon, Robinson, Blendon, Crockery and Spring Lake, and the cities of Ferrysburg and Grand Haven.
