GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A perfect West Michigan summer afternoon welcomed the parade of ships at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival on Monday, August 1.
They don’t call it Coast Guard City, U.S.A. for nothing. Thousands descend into Grand Haven for the 10 day festival. From the ships, fireworks, parades, concerts, craft fair, the smell of pronto pups on the boardwalk to a free sunset guaranteed every evening, it’s what summer is in West Michigan.
Kids Day kicks off Tuesday morning August 2 with games, entertainment and events at Mulligan’s Hollow. The carnival runs in the evening from 6-11 p.m. free ship tours, and at Waterfront Stadium the Grand City Skiiers will perform.
Thursday, August 3 will kick off a weekend filled with concerts, parade, ship tours, fireworks and a Worship on the Waterfront service Sunday morning, August 7.
