HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tuesday August 2, voters in Ottawa and Allegan counties will head to the polls to vote.
In both counties there are contested races for state representatives, county commissioners, township leaders, as well as ballot proposals for Herrick District Library and a millage for Ottawa County Parks.
Some highlights include:
In Ottawa Counties 89th District three Republican candidates are running for the state house two year term. Tracy Stille-Mulligan of Grand Haven, Jim Lilly of Holland and Brandon Hall of Grand Haven.
In the 90th District, Republican Orlando J. Estrada and Democrat Mary Yednak is vying for Daniela Garcia’s seat.
In the race for Sheriff in Ottawa County, Steve Kempker of Zeeland is up against Chris Boyce of Holland.
County Commissioner for the 1st district are Republicans Frank Garcia and Jim Chiodo both of Holland.
Allegan Counties Mary Whiteford faces challenger Abigail Nobel in the race for State Rep.
In Holland Charter Township a Bicycle Path Millage Renewal is on the ballot.
Olive Township seeks a Fire Emergency Millage Renewal Proposition.
Fillmore Township is seeking a Fire and First Response Protection Millage Renewal as well as a Road Repair and Maintenance Millage Renewal.
Laketown Township has a Fire, Road, Bicycle Path and Drain Millage Renewal Proposition.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
