HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – More than 37.8 million people in over 16,000 communities throughout the nation including Holland area residents are joining forces for National Night Out-“America’s Night Out Against Crime.”
There will be a community wide block party at Kollen Park that will feature music, kids games, crime prevention and safety with child ID and so much more.
You’ll be able to sign up for the Holland Junior Police Academy or the Citizen’s Police Academy. A former Detroit Tiger Dave Rozema will be on hand too as a guest of LAUP (Latin Americans United for Progress).
After the celebration, residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights and get out and mingle with their neighbors from 8-10 p.m. or stay in the park until dusk to enjoy the movie “Star Wars-The Force Awakens.” All activities are free.
In addition to the event, residents are invited to mark their block on an area wide map and sign an anti-crime commitment banner.
The event is at Kollen Park from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday August 2nd, 2016.
