HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A Michigan highway will be shut down to allow a Relay and Run to take place.
It’s the Michigan’s Credit Unions M23.1k Run and Relay brought to you by MDOT and Ottawa County. It will take place on the seven miles of the M231 Highway. The highway stretches through rolling countryside and over the Grand River. Runners can choose form a 23.1k run or relay.
Registration runs till July 31 and the registration fee is $40. Prices go up progressively until the end of September and last year MDOT officials were pleased with the turnout of more than 500 runners.
Participants receive quarter-zip shirts, finisher medals, age-group awards and enjoy a post-race party. There are also volunteer opportunities too.
Proceeds from the race will go toward Ottawa County’s non-motorized pathway system, specifically the Grand River Greenway Trail.North Bank Trail and Spoonville Trail.
