HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Thunderstorms that rolled across the Lakeshore on Sunday morning caused some short-term flooding issues for motorists. A statement from Holland Public Safety Fire Chief Chris Tinney sent around 10 AM: “This is just a quick notice to advise that Chicago Drive at US 31 is impassible due to flooding. Motorists should avoid this area and seek an alternative route.” Similar impassable situations were seen in Jenison at the intersection of Main and Baldwin streets, as well as on Cottonwood Drive between M-121 Chicago Drive and Baldwin Street. Forecasters say that conditions should improve as Sunday goes along.
