HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An Allegan woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afterooon.
According to Sgt. Dean DeVries of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at I-196 and Bryon Road around 1:55 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Ronald Swartzel, 81, of Hudsonville was attempting to turn left onto the highway and was hit from behind by Kassandra Jones, 19.
Devries says Jones was going too fast as she attempted make the same turn and although she slowed down, she struck Swartzel’s car.
Jones who was wearing her was transported to Zeeland Community Hospital in good condition. Swartzel had three passengers in his vehicle and all were wearing their seatbelt and were not injured.
