HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to be a police officer you can this Fall.
The Holland Police Department is now accepting applicants for it’s Citizens Police Academy now in it’s 16th year. Participants will learn about various divisions of the department, including drug enforcement, gang activity, domestic violence, K-9, drunk driving, probation and the court system. You’ll also tour the Ottawa County Central Dispatch and the county jail.
Applicants must be 17 years old or older, reside in Holland or a neighboring township or Ottawa County, or work in Holland. Police will perform a brief background check too.

The academy runs every Monday from September 12 to November 21, 2016.
