HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The 43-year-old man who suffered critical injuries while riding his motorcycle on Holland’s North Side June 26, has died.
Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department was advised by the Kent County Medical Examiners Office that Robin Freeman of Holland died Thursday July 7, 2016 at 3:48 p.m. from injuries related to the accident.
On June 26, 2016, Freeman was piloting his machine eastward on Quincy Street around 2:15 PM when he struck the van of Jose Alvarez-Rodriguez, who deputies say drove through a stop sign while going northbound on 104th Avenue. The unhelmeted Freeman was able to lay the motorcycle down but couldn’t avoid a collision, and he was subsequently taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment. Alvarez-Rodriguez, a 59-year-old Holland man, was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
