HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The suspect in an armed robbery in Holland on July 2 was arraigned Wednesday, July 6.
Bradley John Schippers, 52, is being held in the Ottawa County Jail with a $50,000 bond for armed robbery and a $10,000 bond for the larceny. The incident occured in the 400 block of Washington Avenue. Public Safety officers had been dispatched to a store on a report that a clerk had been held up at knife point and that the suspect had pedaled away from the scene.
An HPD officer found the suspect riding a bike on Ottawa Ave where contact was made and he was arrested. The bike he was on did match the description given by the caller, and some of the money was recovered.
Investigators believe that a witness who was in the store at the time the suspect arrived may have information that could be pertinant to the case. In addition, a light blue shirt with a white stripe on the arms, possibly a pro sports team shirt, along with camo pants that the suspect was wearing at the time of crime has yet to be recovered.
