PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – Authorities believe that a distracted driver caused a crash that seriously injured a 54-year-old motorcyclist in Park Township on Saturday morning. Sheriff’s deputies claim that 56-year-old Douglas Dryer was looking at a text message while driving his pickup westbound on James Street. As he turned left onto Stoney Lake Drive, Dryer went into the path of an eastbound motorcycle, causing a collision. The biker, Richard Monetza, was taken to Holland Hospital with what was initially described as a “serious” leg injury. The crash remains under investigation.
