HOLLAND (WHTC) — Holland City Council has set a date for a public hearing on the proposed $16.5 million Civic Center renovation and expansion project.
After agreeing to spend 250-thousand-dollars for a second-stage design contract and a plan to issue bonds for the bulk of the project, city officials are ready to hear from Holland residents, according to a Holland Sentinel report.
The plan to update the 62-year-old Civic Center so far includes such basics as bringing it up to current building codes and installing air conditioning.
Construction will also expand the building’s north hall and east side, adding restrooms accessible from inside and out, extending utilities to the Farmers Market and creating some green parking spaces
Project details can be viewed at city hall and Herrick District Library.
The public hearing is part of city council’s July 6 meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at city hall, 270 S. River Ave.
