HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The City of Holland is working with a developer for a new 300-space parking deck structure.
The Holland Sentinel is reporting that the structure will be in the block of downtown Holland between Eighth and Ninth Streets and River and Pine Avenues. Geenan DeKock is planning $30 million worth of investment for the block.
Both the city and developer are applying in a joint brownfield plan. A brownfield is a term used in urban planning to describe land previously used for industrial purposes or some commercial uses. Such land may have been contaminated with hazardous waste or pollution or is feared to be so.
A public hearing on the plan will take place this Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Holland City Council meeting.
$6 million is the projected cost for the new parking structure.
