HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A teen girl reported being followed Tuesday as she jogged near 104th Avenue and Riley Street in Holland Township.
According to Sgt. Brian Buter with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s office, the 15-year-old, whom police are not identifying, said she was jogging northbound on 104th Avenue at around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 31. As she approached the intersection with Riley Street, she saw a man smiling and laughing at her from his car in the right turn lane of southbound 104th.
This intersection was the female’s turnaround spot and as she did so, she saw the male drive a few driveways to the south of her and pull into a driveway. The male motioned to her as a request to get into his car. She then turned around and was followed by the car. She turned around once more and ran towards the intersection of 104th and Felch. The man’s car was caught up in traffic and did not continue to follow her. The girl called her parents from her cellphone, and police were notified.
The man did not say anything to her or exit his car and was last seen on Riley Street from 104th Avenue. He is described as a 50- to 60-year-old white male, with a shaved head possibly missing some teeth, and has overly large eyes.
