HOLLAND (WHTC) — Holland Fire Capt. Chris Tinney provided details of Sunday’s basement fire at 48 E. 22nd St.
The man rescued from the fire suffered “minor burns to his face and hand as well as smoke inhalation,” according to Tinney’s written statement, posted on the city’s website.
The man’s teenaged son was also treated at Holland Hospital for fire related effects and released.
The initial investigation into how the fire started indicates it appears to be accidental, according to Tinney, who noted “cigarette smoking has not yet been ruled out as a cause.”
