HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Tonight Holland High’s Class of 2016 will receive their diploma’s and say goodbye to their high school.
Superintendent of Holland Schools Brian Davis says this is the class “with class.” Over 267 graduates will walk across the stage at DeVos Fieldhouse tonight. Not only has this class ushered in new traditions like the Homecoming parade and Student Senate but, they have garnered more than $4.3 million in scholarships.
Davis says they have a full time college advisor and that has helped with scholarships. Holland busnissman Tony Castillo who owns several McDonalds and is also a mentor here in Holland will be the guest speaker.
The 2016 class also has 12 early college seniors who will be walking in tonight’s ceremony, but will get their diploma next year as they are on a 13 year plan and will graduate next year with and associates degree from Muskegon Community College. .
