LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A preliminary exam for Todd Courser and expelled representative Cindy Gamrat on misconduct in office charges continues today.
The two are charged with felony misconduct after an affair and cover-up revealed other shortcomings in the way they performed their duties as elected officials. Courser also faces a more serious perjury charge.
Benjamin Graham an aide to former Michigan state representative Todd Courser claims he was instructed to send an email to fellow Republicans to cover up the lawmaker’s extramarital affair.
Graham testified that Courser wanted the email to accuse him of a pornography addiction and being caught with a male prostitute to deflect from a relationship with Gamrat. She insisted on the witness stand that there was an expectation of no legal action while admitting to wrongdoing in front House of Representatives investigators.
