HOLLAND (WHTC) — Longtime former Holland Township Supervisor Bill Driesenga has died. He was 87.
William Earle Driesenga was born April 2nd, 1929, the eldest of four boy, according to his obiturary from Lakeshore Memorial Services..
He was a military veteran with a bronze medal for his service in Korea.
He and his wife, Lois DeJonge, met while cruising Holland’s Eighth Street and went on to have eight children. His obiturary notes he joked that he was glad they didn’t meet on 16th Street but loved his family and had a great sense of humor.
In addition to serving as Holland Township supervisor for 30 years, Mr. Driesenga long served on the township’s planning commission. His current term was set to end in 2017.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date by Lakeshore Memorial Services in Holland.
