HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – After a two-and-a-half hour special study session, Holland City Council reached a general agreement last night on the Civic Center Project.
The expansion of the north and east halls and a complete renovation of the building is part of the $16.5 million dollar project. City Manager Ryan Cotten and Tim Vagle who sits on the Tulip Time board, said that the Tulip Time offices may move there as well.
First Ward Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Mike Tretheway told WHTC Morning News that some of the expansion includes new bathrooms that will be accessible from inside and out, north hall expansion for an indoor farmers market with glass doors, catering and demonstration kitchen and the east hall would have a first floor foyer with the second floor for multi-use space.
Tretheway who has been on the Holland City Council for 20 years says there is a lot of work ahead of them with fundraising top on the list. A final vote will come in June.
The study session ended in applause last night.
