HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Today May 11, 2016, the streets will be lined with spectators for the Crown Motors Volksparade at the Tulip Time Festival.
So much preparation takes place before the parade starts at 2 p.m. The white glove inspection is at 10:30 a.m. at 8th Street and Central Avenue. Street scrubbing starts at 1 p.m. and the Tulip Time Festival Luncheon with Gov. Rick Snyder is from 11:30-1 p.m. Following the Volksparade, it’s the Dutch Dogs on Parade from 3-4:00 p.m. Hear the parade broadcast on 1450 WHTC.
Take in the sights and smells down and around Central Avenue to the carnival at the Civic Center which runs from 11-10 p.m. today.
The Dutch Marketplaats and Dutch Food Court opens today at the Civic Center from 10-6:00 p.m. A style show will feature dutch dance and kinder dance with dutch dance performers throughout the day.
Enjoy the display of more than 100 handmade bed quilts at the Quilt Show from 10-4:00 p.m today at the Holland Arts Center…that’s also where you can check out the Art in Bloom Exhibit and vote for viewer’s choice celebrating the 6th anniversary of the Art in Bloom poster.
Bluegrass, Irish and Classical music is what you’ll hear tonight with “Fiddlefire” at Beechwood Church atarting at 7 p.m. Walt Matzke’s Four Pianos is at the JHM Center for Musical Arts at 7 p.m.
Remember the Family Rest Area and Play Area is at GDK Park on 8th street just west of Central Avenue and open 10-6:00 p.m.
