HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Two Holland residents are among the 101 Michigan artists who will be featured in this year’s Legacy Trust Award Collection.
The Collection gives artists a chance to chowcase their art for a chance to be sponsored in ArtPrize. In it’s 7th year, Legacy Trust sponsors statewide competition for adult artists with disabilities in an effort to bring their voices and vision to ArtPrize.
Holland residents Amanda Tapley has been chosen for her piece “Lost, Inside & Out,” a collage and Elizabeth Smith is entering her piece “Lakeside Peace,” an acrylic. Four winners will be chosen from all over Michigan by a panel of celebrity judges, two by public vote and one special juried award. These works and all entries can be viewed online.
A public viewing is from 10-5 p.m. Thursday May 12 and Friday May 13 in the GRAM in downtown Grand Rapids. Meijer has provided free admission to the GRAM on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Votes may be cast online too.
Winners of LTAC 2016 will be announced on May 18 and along with having their artwork entered into ArtPrize, a cash prize of $500 will also be awarded. Their artwork will also be showcased at the DeVos Place venue during ArtPrize which runs Spetember 21 through October 9, 2016.
