HOLLAND (WHTC) — The teen pregnancy rate has dropped again.
Ottawa County is reporting a 25-year low of 15.8 pregnancies among every 1,000 teen girls ages 15 to 19 as of 2014, down 1.21 percent. The numbers are part of the county’s 2015 youth assessment report.
Allegan County records show 32 pregnancies per 1,000 teen girls, a drop of .04 percent.
Teen pregnancy rates in Michigan range from 12 to 53; the overall average is 32 per 1,000 girls.
Nationally, the teen birth rate is 24.2 per 1,000, another historic low.
