HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – More than 175 schools in Michigan will join students around the country in observing the 5th annual Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
The event is organized by the Michigan Safe Routes to School program in coordination with ACES (All Children Exercise Simultaneously). They partner to together to encourage students and families to utilize active transportation in their everyday routines.
In order to showcase the importance of biking to school and being physicially active in our everyday lives, Governor Snyder has officially recognized May 4, 2016 as Michigan’s Bike to School Day.
So be on the lookout tomorrow as there will be bicycles on area roads and side streets in the morning and afternoon commutes.
