WATSON TWP, MI (WHTC) – A woman was killed when she lost control of her SUV and crashed in Allegan County.
Michigan State Police say it happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday on M-222 near 19th Street west of Martin in Watson Township. Investigators say witnesses saw the woman using her cellphone before the crash. They say she was swerving and it appeared her Jeep Grand Cherokee ran off the right side of the road and then rolled several times.
Witnesses say the impact of the crash was so violent that the woman was ejected from the car, despite the fact she was wearing seatbelts. She was dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Michigan State Police are still investigating the accident.
