HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an unlawful entry in a suspicious situation that occurred in the 10,000 block of Paw Paw drive in Holland Township about 6 p.m. last night.
According to Captain Mark Bennett, the victims in the case are a couple in their 90’s who reside at the address. Thursday evening a white pickup truck pulled into their driveway and a white male got out of the truck and came to the side door of the home. The man knocked briefly and then let himself in. The suspect stated he wanted to sell the victims a sealant for their homes foundation. The victim then exited the home with the suspect to look at the foundation and at that point a second suspect entered the home. The second suspect began walking through the residence and unlocked the front door from inside.
The couple then realized that the situation was suspicious and told the men to leave. At the end of this encounter a third suspect was also at the scene. Nothing appears to have been taken and the victims were not threatened or harmed.
The vehicle is described as a white single cab pickup truck with a plastic tank and hose in the bed of the truck. There were no company markings noted on the vehicle.
The suspects are described as three white males between the ages of 25 and 40, average height and average build. There were not distinguishing marks or tattoos on any of the three suspects. All three of the individuals were wearing white clothing.
