HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland City Council voted last night to have the word “Welkom” on four signs that will be installed this summer.
According to a Holland Sentinel report, as the council took another look at the design after public outcry, “Welkom to Holland” with the Dutch spelling, will appear on the 13-foot orange column metal structure modern installation.
The metal structure is designed to mimic the lines of windmill blades and tulip fields that can be used as a trellis to grow plants.
The council voted 8-0 at its meeting last night with councilman Jay Peters being absent.
