HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland fire department quickly contained a fire at 320 Stratford Way Apt. 4 on a second floor deck of an apartment this morning according to Captain Chris Tinney with the Holland Fire Department.
Captain Tinney told WHTC news that although the fire was contained in that area it started to have some extension into the apartment.
Crew remained on scene for approximately an hour conducting overhaul and an initial investigation. Damage is confined to the deck, with minor extension into the exterior walls of the apartment and is estimated to be less than $5,000. The cause of the fire is being investigated however it appears to be unintentional at this time. There were no injuries to occupants or responding firefighters.
The Holland Charter Tonwship Fire Department, provided a standby in quarter while City of Holland units were commited on scene. American Medical Response also responded to this incident.
Firefighters haven’t determined the cause.
