4/4 Monday: Knickerbocker Film Series: Race- Race is an upcoming biographical sports-drama film. It is the first feature biopic film about African American athlete Jesse Owens, who won a record-breaking four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. 4/5 Tuesday: Spring Break Activity at DeGraaf Nature Center: Selfie Scavenger Hunt- People of all ages will find 5 photos on DeGraaf’s Facebook page or a hard copy at the front desk of locations in the nature center’s preserve. Take a picture of yourself at the locations, get all five, and win a small prize. There will be bonus photos too with harder-to-find locations. 600 Graafschap Road, Holland; 10am-3pm; $2 per person.
4/6 Wednesday: Wednesday Birding Walk at Paw Paw Park- Whether you are an avid birder or are just desiring to experience birds beyond your backyard, get out and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of spring bird migration. 1230 Paw Paw Dr., Holland; 8-10am; Free.
4/7 Thursday: Hope College Concert Band Performance at Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts Concert Hall- 221 Columbia Ave., Holland; 7:30pm; Free.
4/8 Friday: Wayland: Live Music at Park Theatre- Wayland is a four piece rock n’ roll band consisting of Mitch Arnold on vocals, Phillip Vilenski on guitar, Dean Pizzazz on bass, and Tyler Coburn on drums. All four members have deep roots in the midwest, and the band is named after Phillip Vilenski’s hometown of Wayland, MI. Since first hitting the road in January 2012, the band has steadily built a grassroots following. Wayland is very true to staying connected with their fanbase, the Wayland Warriors, and is active on many Social Media platforms. 248 South River Avenue, Holland; 8pm; Advance Tickets $20, At the Door $25.
