GENEVA TWP, MI (WHTC) – A cemetery in Van Buren county has been vandalized.
Sheriff Dale R. Gribler of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Tuesday, March 22, officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Baseline Road in reference to the malicious destruction of property. Approximately 33 grave headstones in the Lacota Cemetery were tipped over or broken. The vandalism is believed to have occurred on the evening of Saturday March 19, 2016.
The possible suspect vehicles are possibly a pickup truck and or SUV. No makes, models or colors are available at this time. Other than that, Deputies have very little information or evidence to go on.
