HOLLAND (WHTC) — Power has been restored for 533 Consumers Energy customers in Laketown and Saguatuck townships, according to the company’s outage map. The map indicates crews have been assigned and power was restored as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Company spokesman Roger Morganstern said the outage was caused by a car-pole accident in the area, which cut power at 6:25 p.m. The pole needs replacing, he said.
The cause is unclear. The company issued a statement early Tuesday cautioning customers that the incoming winter storm could create power outages, the consequences of freezing rain and winds gusting to 30 miles an hour.
WHTC will report more on the cause; the outage has affected The Van’s antenna but listeners can hear the station online.
