SPRING LAKE TWP, MI (WHTC) – One of the founders and operators of West Michigan Fast Pitch, a traveling softball league, is lodged in the Ottawa County jail on charges of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree.
Thomas Barnes Galloway. 44, of Spring Lake Township was arrested this morning according to Captain Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation began two weeks ago when information came forward to the Sheriff’s office regarding alleged criminal sexual behavior by the suspect. The allegations involve criminal sexual conduct with a then-13-year-old former player. The victim is now 17 and told a parent about the incident this month.
The team is known as the Sabercats and they function as a girls softball team featuring girls between the ages of eight and 18. The softball team fired Galloway immediately upon learning of the allegations.
Galloway remains in the Ottawa County jail in lieu of a $75,000 cash bond. The incident remains under investigation.
