HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Thursday this year, so many businesses are holding their yearly Irish festivities this weekend.
Today, Holland residents will trade in their wooden shoes for shamrocks at the Downtown Holland St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Irish dancers, bagpipers, and kilt-wearers are just a few of the parade highlights. Families and individuals wearing green are invited to carry Irish flags in the parade (a limited number of flags will be available at no charge).
You will have a chance to help Community Action House of Ottawa County’s food pantry too. Donated canned fruits and green beans in honor of St. Patrick’s Day will be accepted. Grocery carts will travel the parade route collection donations. The parade starts at 12 p.m.
After the parade ends, head over to the Curragh Irish Pub or New Holland Brewing Company for live music, more Irish dancing, and authentic food and drinks!
