HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A Fennville man was injured in a crash early Sunday morning, February 28 with the vehicle catching fire.
According to Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, a 2005 Bonneville driven by 32-year-old Pedro Canales was traveling westbound at about 12:15 a.m. on James Street in Holland Township failed to yield at a blinking red light at U.S. 31. He struck a 1999 GMC pickup being driven by 35-year-old Holland resident Aaron Vandermeulen.
After the collision, the Pontiac caught fire and the driver was able to get out of the vehicle safely. The Holland Township fire department was able to extinguish the fire.
Canales received injuries and was he was treated and released at Holland Hospital.
