HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – In 1984, a McDonald’s hamburger would cost you 95 cents. A lot has changed since then and Barbara Krohn of Holland has been there to see it.
Krohn has been named McDonald’s Employee of the Year in the State of Michigan out of 25,000 employees state wide. For 30 years she has worked for McDonald’s in Holland and has seen a lot of changes. From how breakfast is made to the many different items that have been added to the menu. Remember the McRib? She was there for that unveiling.
Krohn is what is known as a Hospitality Specialist. She works the lobby greeting customers, pouring coffee and making sure the lobby is in tip top shape. Krohn is originally from Port Huron and started working at the McDonald’s on 8th Street 30 years ago. She moved around to different locations all owned by Tony Castillo and has spent many years at the North River Avenue location.
There will be a coffee and donut celebration for her tomorrow from 8-10 a.m. at the McDonalds at 213 North River Road to celebrate her and her award.
