HOLLAND (WHTC) — A wind advisory from the National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids office remains in effect for Allegan and Ottawa counties until 10 p.m.Friday.
Some area residents are feeling the wind’s effects.
Consumers Energy reports nearly 3,000 (up from just under 300 at 3:30 p.m.) without power in Allendale, just north of Grand Valley State University’s campus. Just over 70 lost power near 64th street and 144th avenue in Laketown Township, according to Consumers but were restored by just after 4 p.m.; another nearly 500 (up from 300) lost power between Hopkins and Allegan Township.
Holland BPW reports 21 customers without power near 14th Street and Lincoln Avenue after a tree fell; power was quickly retored to 25 customers near 17th Street and College Avenue.
