LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Beginning on Friday at 8 AM, weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunk line highways from the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana state line north to I-96, which will include most of the Lakeshore area. A mid-winter thaw predicted for this coming weekend will lead to melting snow and ice saturating softened ground and undermining road foundation work. As of midday on Thursday, there was no word on when weight restrictions on county roads will be put into place by the road commissions in either Allegan or Ottawa counties.
