GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Investigators with the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety say that smoking materials probably started a fatal fire on Tuesday evening at a unit in the Village Green Mobile Home Community off of Robbins Road. Autopsy results showed that 56-year-old Suzanne Piasecki succumbed to smoke inhalation in the blaze that started in the living room of the trailer. Authorities also determined that the fire was accidental in nature. No crew members were injured in bringing the flames under control. Piasecki’s dog also died as a result of the blaze.
