HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland Polar Plunge is this Saturday February 20th at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds in Park Township.
Area Director for Allegan and Ottawa County Special Olympics, Mark Dalman, says participants will be plunging in an urban center since there is no lake at the fairgrounds. They plunge in a dumpster lined in plastic with clean water provided by Park Township Fire Department.
Registration starts at 11 a.m. with the parade of costumes beginning at 11:45 a.m. The plunge will follow at noon. There will be awards and a Post Plunge Party. They remind you to please bring your own towel. If you fundraise $75 or more, you will receive the long-sleeve plunge shirt.
The money raised from the event goes to fund the sports programs for Special Olympics for Ottawa and Allegan County.
