HOLLAND (WHTC) — Isaiah L. Hughes, a Holland resident charged in the 2013 shooting death of an Indiana man, was found guilty of the murder on Friday.
Hughes admitted to shooting Benjamin Fullilove on July 13, 2013, after a party in Crown Pointe, IN, but claimed self defense during his Lake County, IN, trial this week, according to reporting in the Northwest Indiana Times.
Sentencing is set for March 16. Hughes, who had been out on bail pending the jury’s decision, was taken back into custody Friday by Lake County Sheriff’s deputies.
