HOLLAND (WHTC) — Closing arguments begin today in the trial of a Holland man charged with murder in Gary, Indiana.
Isaiah L. Hughes, 26, of Holland, is accused of gunning down Benjamin Fullilove on July 13, 2013, after a cluster of arguments developed at a private party. Fulilove died a few days later.
Hughes and his wife were in Lake County, Indiana, to attend a funeral, and had gone to an evening party with long-time friends, according to The Northwest Indiana Times.
The couple left amid a cluster of arguments that erupted in the party; a fight ensued in the parking lot. In court testimony this week, witnesses disagreed about whether or not Fullilove was armed.
