MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC) – A shooting outside a high school basketball game has left four people hospitalized including the suspect. Two young women and a young man, with the fourth being the male suspect.
The shooting happened after four people were prevented from entering the school for a basketball game between Muskegon Heights Academy and Ottawa Hills High School. The suspect was shot by a Muskegon County Sheriff’s deputy.
Muskegon Heights Police Chief Joseph Thomas Jr. says they were tipped off about people planning to cause some trouble at the game due to a fight last week in Grand Rapids.
According to Muskegon Heights Public School Academy System Superintendent Alena-Zachery-Ross, the district will not hold class today.
