SPRING LAKE, MI (WHTC) – A lightning strike may have started a fire at Woodland Ridge apartments in Spring Lake.
Firefighters from several departments were called to the scene at 18270 Woodland Ridge Drive just after 6 p.m. yesterday, and all residents were able to get out safely.
The fire was in one building and a resident Cliff Johnson says he heard a loud boom and the whole building shook. There are 24 units in the building.
While lightning is a possible cause, it has not yet been confirmed to have started the fire. Crews were able to rescue three cats from the building and the cats are ok.
