HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The focus of a Travel Commission meeting at Crystal Mountain in Northern Michigan last week celebrated Pure Michigan’s 10th anniversary.
Sally Laukitis, Executive Director of the Holland Visitors Bureau says when Pure Michigan started in 2006 it was a 6.2 million advertising investment. The investment has now doubled to 12.4 million. Laukitis says it has generated 4.1 million trips into Michigan, 1.2 billion in new visitors spending and 85.4 million dollars in state taxes according to the numers for 2014.
Laukitis says for every dollar spent for Pure Michigan, the return investment in $6.87.
